Nettie Cullen
BSc MA (Psych), MNZPsS
Registered Psychologist

Nettie Cullen is a registered psychologist with over twelve years experience in a variety of settings including public mental health services, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations and private practice. Her training and work experience has taken place both in Australia and New Zealand and has included Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, Solution-Focused and Family Systems therapies.

Nettie’s approach to therapy is to work closely with clients to develop a strategy that most effectively produces positive results, given each client’s unique circumstances and challenges.  Nettie works not only to fix what is ‘broken’, but also to identify and nurture her clients’ particular capabilities and strengths. To do this it is essential to understand clients and support them in a whole-of-life way … emotionally, physically, spiritually, relationally and socially.

Nettie works with adults experiencing a range of mental health, emotional or relationship issues including:

  • stress
  • Life crises or changes (e.g. relationship break-up, changes in employment, having a baby, etc)
  • Dissatisfaction with quality of life
  • low self-esteem
  • depression, sadness and grief
  • anxiety, worry, panic, phobias
  • Anger
  • parenting concerns including adjusting to parenting and different stages of parenting
  • compulsive behaviours
  • relationship problems
  • trauma and abuse
  • diagnosed mental health concerns.
